Jackie Wilson: The Man, the Music, the Mob
By Tony Douglas
If you fancy a good read, look no further than Melbourne author Tony Douglas and his book "Jackie Wilson: the man, the music, the mob"  This comes highly recommended, lots of good info and some great pictures. Tony spent a fair bit of time in the USA researching the book and met everyone who ever knew Jackie so this is a must read for Jackie fans. And if you haven't already done so check out Tony's earlier book on Jackie "Lonely Teardrops"

Soul of Money Records Kent CDKEND209
This is the only CD to come my way recently that's worth a mention. Once again Kent records have delivered the goods, a top compilation of 24 tracks, good variety, an informative booklet, and some label scans as well. The CD opens up with the superb Bobby Angelle "Too much for you" and it just gets better. My faves from the CD are Lil Valley- The M&M's and The Peanuts' "The Phillie" and the Stax sounding "Try my love" by Toni and the Showmen, and The Larks of course with "The Temptation Walk". In fact there are no tracks on the CD I don't like, even the modern soul tracks on the cd are good and there are only three of them, as well as three previously unreleased tracks. All in all a very good buy.
